Welcoming a New Member To The Rob Reep Studio Family
It was a long weekend, and I'm not just talking about an extra day of break for Memorial Day. No, this past weekend my wife and I made a long haul to deep Southern Texas. Remember in my last post I promised I would let you know about the next adventure I was taking over the weekend?
Well, my wife Jessi and I made the ten hour drive to a little town called George West, Texas to pick up my new German Shorthaired Pointer puppy, Denver. It was a very straightforward trip, down and back.
Denver, whose full name is Bergdenver vom Hinterland(the surname of the kennel he came from), measured in at 14.4 lbs. at his vet check-up at just over eight weeks old.
As most of you know by a few of a my paintings, not to mention the logo on the top of this website, I've always had a fascination with pointers, particularly German Shorthairs. They're an extremely versatile sporting breed.
Denver won't be raised as a hunting dog, at least that's not in my plans for him at this time. Instead he will be my buddy on painting trips, hiking adventures, and daily jogs in another year or so.
While I was in George West I did happen to get outside and snap a few photos for possible future paintings. Overall however, this trip was to get a puppy, and that we did.
That's it for today. I just wanted to introduce you all to the newest member of our family.
Reminder: "A Taste of Home" exhibition opens this Saturday, June 1. It will be running through August, with special extended hours June 14 and 15.
